Pretty early start today – well 7am. It’s not the early starts that bother me; it’s the finding of parking spaces.
Filming interior of the strip club: so we had to be on hand to dress the set.
It feels a little like we have too many people and not enough jobs atm. We were kind of tripping over each other to get the work done. I guess it was a lesson in how to be useful and helpful to others in your team when you have ridiculously little to do. However that can always change in an instant.
Locations were having problems with the people they had arranged locations with. It seems organising with the head of company for work locations, may not always suit the workers. It had been arranged for the back door of a shop, situated in an alley in Glasgow would be the location for the strip club exterior. However the shop workers began complaining that it would interfere with their day to day working and tried to put a spoke in the wheel causing grief for Karen the locations manager. After 10mins sweet talking and an offer of some cash helped them become a little more agreeable and all was well again. It would be a waste of money and time if the crew had to turn up and not be able to film.
During Karen’s stressful time she gave me a little insight into the job complications of a locations manager. Have a great respect for them now. Their placements of luminous signs along the roads have been more accurate than sat nav. It’s impressive.
