The menus boasted a fine selection of mediterranean platters. Certain food combinations on offer made my mouth water, so I ventured inside with interest.
As I entered I was confronted with a large statue of a robed skeleton and I thought maybe it was a homage to the Mexican festival of the dead. As it turns out the statue was a prop the owner acquired from the Theatre Royal and the cafe had in fact a Spanish Theme. Nearly right, hehe.
The seating was very comfortable and the mediterranean themes added to the ambience creating a pleasant place to sit. I ordered some french toast and bacon with maple syrup and a cup of tea.
The food was delicious and as I looked around and drank in the atmosphere I felt very comfortable and glad I paid the place a visit.
Leaving Hula with the sun still shining bright, I felt glad to be alive!! My next mission was to find another cafe to visit, so off i went with my group admiring the buildings that flanked me as I walked. As a group we decided to head to the Art School and track down a cafe we assumed to be there. I nearly passed out with exertion as I walked up the hill! It wasn't easy to find and after a bit of searching I discovered The Vic Cafe. A stark contrast from my previous cafe visit. It was dark and not as much attention had been paid to the decor. I bought some hot tea and spent about 20mins sketching my surroundings. Being a students cafe, it was much busier with people popping in and out at regular intervals. I got the impression that the space could be used as a night club.
I left the Vic Bar and headed back to college, having had a very interesting morning and discovered some new places I'd never been to :D
