Chalk Pastels

Just bought some chalk pastels and paper - needed a subject to try them out!!

I used the turtle object I used for my water colour study - A gift I got from a friend vacationing in Cyprus.

I love using these pastels. So easy to merge the colour together. To get fine detail I rolled up some sugar paper into a cone and used it like a pencil- dipping the end into the chalk pastel dust.

Greetings JoAnne!

I want to let you know how much i'm enjoying savoring your projects. Our Daughter has taken after me... Art,Art,Art and thensome. She's also into sculpting in various
mediums as well as painting, found object sculptures ect... She also is in several bands that She sits in on as "needed" (when the gigs come). She has played the djimbe for 30 years, now on a hiatus from teaching it.She plays from Tampa Bay to Jacksonville to Miami & various other places in Florida.
We sure do hope to see your continuation of these pretty dang informative blogs.
Now, i do have a question... i've used super fine grit sandpaper... But i'm not
familiar with "Sugar" paper... Might i ask, What is your favorite Brand & grit?
Also, where can it be found? Somewhere like "Michaels", or the more heavy duty
"Home Depot"? i would enjoy using the stuff! i am hopefully looking forward to
coming back again and again!

Thanking you in advance,
katt
