Team Panto ♥

I feel it an appropriate time, to introduce the paint crew.
These are the people who I worked beside each day and who contributed to this experience by being enthusiastic, talented and hardcore workers!

We were presented with a HUGE challenge in terms of the sheer amount of  square meters of cloth and ply - that would have to be covered in paint and design.
So here are the people who fired on all cylinders,
and made it happen.
Each person brought their own particular skills and uses to the team.

Is that the right white?

First note is to our scenic art tutor Gary Fry.
Gary has a depth of knowledge on the subject and the ability to pass on valuble advice and guided our progression through the production.
Gary seemed to have a limitless supply of ideas on how to achieve certain texture or paint effects. A lot of which are actually simple to achieve.

Luisa Cocozza - colour-mixer extrordinaire and our manager for the Panto and fellow 3rd year.

I must have heard 'Luisa' called at least over 500 times, she must have been hearing it in her sleep.

Luisa successfully kept us busy and motivated throughout and coined the phrase 'GET OOR IT' - this was said to anyone who dared to say they were tired!

Karen Hall - who mastered the art of trompe l'oeil and showed us all how it's done.
Fellow 3rd year and manager of the 'Waves Cloth' and creator of the painters happy jig !

Maisie, Sarah, Karen and Rachael do art!
The 2nd Year Elite Painting Force

Maisie Cottingham, Rachael Brown and Sarah Crooks.
These guys brought enthuisiam by force to the the Paintshop.
Early on, Luisa assigned the girls the jobs of using scale drawings to accurately mark the flats so the carpentry workshop could cut them out. They were also given the responsibility of  making a large pounce.
As time progressed, each of the girls took charge of a piece of scenery and managed it.
who let the donkeys out?

The happy workforce!

Rachael is also keeping a log of her RSAMD experiences in her blog.

Maisie and Rachael worked together to discover how to create that printy effect on the donkey flats, after working on a cloth.

lovin those lines

Whilst Sarah took charge of the donkey carts. Drew them out and painted them.

Rachael marked up and painted the Caravan

Maisie's work on the 'Pinocchio'sign.
All those weeks of painting lines has paid off.
Its almost a natural habit for us to mark up/paint/texture/splatter now without a blink of the eye.
Daniel making even the grass beautiful.

We enlisted the help of a professional artist - Daniel Bonarelli. He was drafted in for the last week to help us get everything finished.
Daniel is a local artist, living and working in Glasgow, specialising in sculpture.
He puts a little bit of love into everything  he does!
oh that Sarah! always after a bit of my biscuit!

A nice cup of tea's what keeps you going through hard work and long hours.
